Turner, Swanwick Move Gators Four Spots in Round Two

The Gators improved by 14 shots from its opening round with a 1-under 287 this afternoon at Eagle Point Golf Club to move into 6th place. Florida tees of the final round tomorrow at 9:05 a.m.

Turner and Swanwick both shot rounds of 2-under 70 to climb the leaderboard. Turner made his first eagle of the season on the par5 fourth (640 yards), bouncing back from his double-bogey on the hole yesterday. He sits in 7th at 1-under 143 and is one of seven golfers under par.

Swanwick leaped 37 spots to T22 and made a seven shot difference in his first set of 18-holes. He is averaging 4.75 (-2) on par5s and 4.0 (E) on par 4s. 

Three other Gators also cut strokes off from their first round with Parker Sands making up four strokes and shooting an even par 72. He is one shot back of the top-25 at T26. After four bogeys in the first six holes, Sands finished bogey-free and made four birdies in an eight hole stretch. 

Also tied for 26th with Sands is Ryan Hart. They are both competing as individuals this tournament and Hart is making his season debut. 

Parker Bell (3 strokes, 73) and Rylan Shim (4 strokes, 74) round out the Gators that improved on day two. Bell is tied for 36th and Shim T53 as Matthew Kress is one shot back of the freshman, Shim, at T56.
