Chotikabhukkana Tied For Second, Lady Vols In Third After 36 Holes at Daniel Island Invitational


DANIEL ISLAND, S.C. – Tennessee women’s golfer Manassanan Chotikabhukkana sits tied for second place after two rounds at the Daniel Island Invitational as the Lady Vols are in third as a team. 

Chotikabhukkana led UT in both rounds Monday and sits at 8-under overall and three shots back of the lead ahead of round three. The junior opened round one with a 5-under 67, which marks a career-low 18-hole score in relation to par. Chotikabhukkana then continued her momentum in round two with a quick 3-under start through four holes to card a 69. 

As a team, UT shot 4-under through the first two rounds of the tournament. 

Senior Bailey Davis sits inside the top 20 at 1-over  through 36 holes at the Daniel Island Invitational. The White Plains, Maryland, native opened the event with a 73 and then went on to shoot an even-par 72 in the second round. 

Sofie Engeseth sits one shot behind Davis and is currently tied for 24th after posting a pair of 73s. 

Freshman Isabella Johnson is one shot outside the top 25 after Monday’s two rounds. The freshman logged a 74 in round one and contributed a 73 in round two. 

Kyra Van Kan gave UT its second-best round one score on Monday after carding an even-par 72 and then went on to shoot a 76 in the second round. She currently is two shots outside the top 25 ahead of Tuesday’s final round.
