Yang, Fouillet Lead Bears In Final Round
VALENCIA – The California women’s golf team had one of the best rounds in the field Tuesday at the Bruin Wave Invitational, posting a 47-over par 911 for the tournament and moving into fifth place by the end of the final round.
After starting the day in seventh place, the Golden Bears moved up two spots by carding a 9-over 297 as a team over the final 18 holes. It was their third top-five team finish in their last five tries.
Sophomore Constance Fouillet (221, +5) earned her second top-10 individual finish of the season, closing things out with a 3-over 75 to place ninth. Jieming Yang (228, +12) tied her lowest-scoring round of her senior year, registering five birdies and shooting a 1-under par 71 in round three that was good for the fifth-best score of the day. Yang finished in 23rd place, her best of the year.
Junior Anna Molloy (233, +17) carded a 3-over 75 and senior Kaylyn Noh (229, +13) shot a 4-over 76, both good for their best rounds of the competition. Cal’s 9-over 297 in round three was the fourth-lowest of any team on Tuesday.
