Ashton Harper leads Tech at Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate

AIKEN, S.C. –Ashton Harper carded a final-round, 1-under 69 to lead Virginia Tech to an eighth-place finish at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate, which concluded Tuesday at Palmetto Golf Club (par 70, 6,617 yards).
A sophomore from Roanoke, Va., Harper tied for 18th at 8-over 148 (79-69). The Hokies finished at 604 (310-294).
Clemson won the team title behind a 3-over 563 (289-274), five shots ahead of tournament host USC Aiken.
Oscar Abrahamsson of USC Aiken and Henric Bjelke of Campbell tied for first place in the individual race at 2-under 138.
The Hokies return to the links March 23-25 at The Hootie at Bulls Bay in Awendaw, S.C.
