CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Illinois head coach Renee Slone announced today the addition of Alexis Myers to the 2025-26 roster.
“We are excited to welcome Alexis to the Illinois golf family,” Slone said. “After leading her high school team to an IHSA state title last fall, she was able to graduate in December and has used the spring semester to refine her game, compete in tournaments and get a head start on college coursework by taking classes. These actions show her commitment to preparation and putting herself in the best possible position to be successful. She also played high school basketball and will add another dimension of competitiveness to our program.”
“We are looking forward to the impact she will have as we continue to build on our successes from this spring.”
The Northbrook, Ill., native helped lead Glenbrook North HS to consecutive IHSA 2A state championships in 2023 and 2024. In last year’s state final tournament, Myers finished second individually, with the Spartans shooting a state-record 585, breaking the previous mark by 10 strokes.
Myers also won the IWGA Girl’s Junior Amateur in August of 2024 at Aldeen Golf Club in Rockford, Ill., pacing the field by seven strokes.
She participated in a total of 57 IJGA tournaments from 2015-24, tallying 24 wins, nine runners-up and 10 third-place finishes. Myers was also named the 2022 IJGA Player of the Year.
