Louis Oosthuizen What’s In The Bag?
Louis Oosthuizen is one of South Africa’s most successful golfers, winning on multiple Continents, most notably the 2010 Open Championship at St Andrews. Throughout his professional career, Oosthuizen has primarily used Ping clubs with the South African occasionally using the odd alternative. Here, we take a look at what is currently in his bag.
Louis Oosthuizen What’s In The Bag?
Driver
Ping G400
Over the last couple of years the South African seemed to be switching his driver a fair amount. At one point, he had the Ping G425 Max in his setup, and then next week, the Ping G400 went back in. What we can say though is that, at the most recent event he played in, Oosthuizen had a Ping G400 (opens in new tab) with a Project X HZRDUS Smoke Green 60 6.5 shaft.
Fairways
TaylorMade SIM2, Ping G
Once again, Oosthuizen has chopped and changed the clubs in this area a number of times. Over the last year or so, he has had a Ping G425 3-wood and 5-wood, which replaced his i25 and G410 models. However the South African had a TaylorMade SIM2 (opens in new tab) in the bag along with a Ping G model in the bag of late.
Irons
Ping Blueprint
The irons are where we see Ping return to the bag for Oosthuizen, with the Ping Blueprint (opens in new tab) featuring in a four-iron down to pitching wedge. Again, depending on the course and conditions, the South African will bump up the set to include a three-iron.
Once again though, Oosthuizen has occasionally swapped out different makes of Ping irons. He was pictured at the start of the 2021/22 PGA Tour season with Ping i210’s (opens in new tab), irons designed to offer forgiveness, especially at the upper end of the bag. One common theme, is that the irons are fitted with True Temper Dynamic Gold X100 shafts.
