Men’s Golf Finishes Up 2022 Spring Season at Big Ten Championship

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers men’s golf team has wrapped up its 2022 season.

The Scarlet Knights finished 11h as a team at the Big Ten Tournament at The Pete Dye Course at the French Lick Resort in Indiana. Rutgers shot a +45 as a team as Illinois led the way with a +21 on the weekend.

Team captain and junior Xavier Marcoux led the way for RU with one of the most memorable moments of the season when he sunk the first hole in one of his career from 191 yards in Round 1 on Friday. Marcoux led the team with a 17th place finish. Marcoux shot a 224 through the three-day tournament.

“It was definitely one of the hardest pins all day,” Marcoux said on Friday following Round 1. “I used a six iron, threw a laser in there and it went in.”

Fellow junior captain Luke Wells finished three stroked behind Marcoux with a 227 finish which was good for a 33rd place finish. Both Marcoux and Wells shot an even par round on Saturday during windy conditions.
