The Charlotte, North Carolina native was one of 25 golfers to earn their way to the PGA Tour following Sunday’s final round. The top 25 players on the final Korn Ferry regular-season points list earned PGA Tour cards for the 2022-23 season. Cone finished 22nd on the Korn Ferry points list.
A two-time All-American at Tech, Cone will be making his debut on the PGA Tour. Cone becomes the fourth Hokie to earn his PGA Tour card, joining Johnson Wagner, Brendon de Jonge and Tim Collin, Jr.

Cone worked his way to the Korn Ferry Tour in 2018 following a successful two seasons on PGA Tour Canada. He captured the Korn Ferry Tour’s AdventHealth Championship in Kansas City in May, marking his second KFT win of his career.
The 29-year-old still ranks third in career scoring average in Tech history at 72.14. He earned third-team All-America honors as a junior and honorable mention All-America distinction as a senior. Cone was part of a three-way tie for medalist honors at the 2015 ACC Men’s Golf Championship.
