FORT WORTH, Texas – Behind an under-par performance from senior Mark Power, the No. 21 Wake Forest men’s golf team concluded play at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational Tuesday in Fort Worth, Texas.
Power got his day off to a quick start with birdies on the opening two holes and remained under par for the remainder of the final round. His lowest round of the weekend helped the Kilkenny, Ireland native vault up the individual leaderboard.
The senior moved up 15 spots as he finished tied for 37th on the leaderboard. The Deacs wrapped up play in 14th as a team.
Power was one of two Wake Forest players to post scores of even par or better on Tuesday afternoon. Freshman Andrew McLauchlan turned in his second consecutive round of par or better. In the second round, he carded a 69 (-1).
For the second consecutive tournament, he finished as the highest Wake Forest player on the individual leaderboard, grabbing a tied for 27th finish at 2-over-par for the event.
