Kayla Smith On ANNIKA Award Watch List


University of North Carolina senior Kayla Smith is one 20 players on the Final Fall ANNIKA Award Watch List presented by Stifel. The award is named for Annika Sorenstam and is given annually to the top player in collegiate women’s golf.
 

Smith is one of six ACC players on the watch list. The Burlington, N.C., native won her first collegiate title in September at the Texas A&M “Mo”Morial and finished tied for eighth in her other two starts this season.
 
Smith helped UNC win the team title at the Ivy Intercollegiate and finish third at both the “Mo”Morial and the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational. An All-ACC honoree in 2022, Smith is Carolina’s all-time leader in stroke average at 73.39 per round.
 
Stanford’s Rose Zhang won the ANNIKA Award in 2022.
