WINDERMERE, Fla. – The University of Utah men’s golf team capped their fall schedule on Tuesday with the final round of the Isleworth Collegiate, placing 13th while Javier Barcos recorded the top score for the Utes, finishing in a tie for 20th.
“It was a disappointing way to finish our fall season,” said coach Garrett Clegg. “It has been a fall where hopefully we’ve learned a lot of lessons and unfortunately that can be really painful! We’ll get home and put in the work necessary to be ready to compete in 2023.”
Barcos capped his fall campaign by logging his fourth consecutive top 20 finish and he shot 2-over on Tuesday. He collected a team-high four birdies during the round and started his day by carding a 1-over 35 on the front nine. Barcos ended the tournament with score of 1-over.
Utah’s second score came from Martín León, who was six-over in the final round. León collected 13 pars on Tuesday, raising his total across all three rounds to 40, which tied for the most in the competition. His mark of 9-over for the tournament put him 43rd.
