GUADALAJARA, Mexico – Freshmen duo Angela Arora and Manassanan Chotikabhukkana led Tennessee’s women’s golf team through the final day of the Collegiate Invitational at Guadalajara Country Club on Monday, finishing tied for 10th and 13th place, respectively.
Arora, who played in her first tournament as a Lady Vol, carded a 71 in the second round, notching the first under-par score of her young career. The British Columbia native shot +4 (76) in round three to finish her first collegiate tournament tied for 10th place at +6 overall.
Chotikabhukkana posted an 80 (+8) in round two, and shot even par in the final round, notching her ninth round of par or better this season. The Bangkok, Thailand, native finished the event tied for 13th place at +7 overall, recording the second top-15 finish of her collegiate career.
Vanessa Gilly shot +6 (78) in the second round and carded a 75 (+3) in round three to tie for 28th place +12 overall. Kayla Holden notched a 78 and a 75 in the final rounds in Guadalajara and finished tied for 53rd place at +20, while Bailey Davis shot +7 (79) in the second round and carded a 78 (+6) in round three to finish in 55th place at +21.
As a team, the Lady Vols recorded a 54-hole score of 905 (+41) and finished in ninth place out of the 12-team field.
