Alabama Women’s Golf Closes Regular Season at the Liz Murphey Intercollegiate

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women’s golf team is set to return to action at the Liz Murphey Intercollegiate, which will be the regular season tournament this spring. Hosted by the University of Georgia, the annual three-day, 54-hole tournament will be contested March 24-26 at the par 72, 6,327-yard University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Ga.

The Crimson Tide will begin play in the event with a shotgun start Friday morning at 9 a.m. CT on holes Nos. 11-15, paired with Arkansas and San Diego State.

The Lineup

• The Tide’s starting five for the event will be Benedetta Moresco, Kynadie Adams, Taylor Kehoe, Emilie Øverås and Isabella van der Biest
• The duo of Moresco and Adams have competed in the Tide’s line up for every event of the year
• Moresco leads the team in stroke average (72.78) with all 23 of her rounds this season counting towards the team score
• Adams ranks second on the squad in rounds in the 60s (3) and is third in rounds of par or better (9) and fourth in stroke average (74.17)
• Emilie Øverås is third on the team in stroke average (73.91) and will compete in her fourth tournament of the spring season
• Kehoe and van der Biest round out the Tide’s lineup for the event

Tournament Preview

• The teams will compete in a five-count-four, stroke-play format
• The 15-team field features 10 squads ranked in the nation’s top 50 including No. 45 Alabama, according to Golfstat.com
• The Crimson Tide is joined by additional ranked foes in No. 4 South Carolina, No. 9 Texas A&M, No. 10. Auburn, No. 18 Virginia, No. 20 Florida, No. 29 Georgia, No. 34 Arkansas, No. 46 College of Charleston and No. 50 North Carolina
• Other teams that round out the field are Daytona State, Georgia Southern, Louisville, Purdue and San Diego State
