Christine Wang 72 Leads USC Women's Golf In PING Second Round

Junior Christine Wang carded a par round of 72 while freshman Catherine Park posted another 1-over 73 to lead the USC women’s golf team during the second round of the PING/ASU Invitational on Friday (March 25) at the Papago G.C. in Phoenix, Ariz.

The Trojans shaved nine strokes off their first-round result, posting a second-round 4-over 292 and are now tied for 11th at 17-over 593 (301-292).

Park is tied for 23rd at 2-over 146 (73-73) after another 1-over afternoon that saw three birdies, including two in her first 5 holes.

Wang is tied for 32nd at 3-over 147 (75-72) following her team-best effort today which marked her fourth round of par or better in her last seven outings. She matched two birdies against two bogeys today.

Sophomore Amari Avery is tied for 53rd at 7-over 151 (78-73) while sophomore Xin (Cindy) Kou (79-74) and junior Brianna Navarrosa (75-78) are tied for 65th at 9-over 153.

Play concludes Saturday with USC teeing off at 7:30 a.m. PT.
