PHOENIX – The Washington women’s golf team finished 12th at the PING/ASU Invitational, completing the third and final round with a 27-over total of 891.

The Huskies shot an 11-over 299 Sunday at Papago Golf Course.

Juniors Stefanie Deng and Camille Boyd shared the low total among the Huskies, each finishing the three-day event with a 3-over 219. Both shot 2-over 74 on Sunday, each with four bogies and two birdies, and finished in a tie for 21st overall.

“Tough way to end the event,” said UW head coach Mary Lou Mulflur. We had EVERYTHING in our favor today and just didn’t get it done – simple as that. We need to be a whole lot tougher and figure out a way to get the ball in hole, period.”

Brittany Kwon carded a 3-over 74 Sunday to finish 12-over for the tournament, while Jamie Hsieh was 5-over Sunday to finish 13-over. Kennedy Knox finished with her best round of the weekend with a 3-over 75, finishing with a three-round total of 15-over 231.

Next up for UW is the Silverado Showdown, April 3-5 in Napa, Calif.
