NORMAN, Okla. – Sophomore Zoe Antoinette Campos on the UCLA women’s golf team was named to the United States roster for the 2023 Arnold Palmer Cup, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced Tuesday morning.
The top six golfers from the final ranking from both the United States and International men and women are among the individuals selected to compete in the Palmer Cup. The event will take place from June 8-10 at Laurel Valley Golf Club in Ligonier, Pa.
The Arnold Palmer Cup was co-founded by Arnold Palmer and the GCAA and began at the Bay Hill Club & Lodge, Orlando, Fla., in 1997. The event is a Ryder Cup-style tournament featuring the top men’s and women’s university/college golfers matching the United States against a team of International players.
Campos is the fifth Bruin from the UCLA women’s golf team to be selected for the annual event, joining Emma Spitz (2021, 2020), Mariel Galdiano (2019), Lilia Vu (2018) and Patty Tavatanakit (2019).
Campos, who is coming off her first appearance in an LPGA event at the 2023 Chevron Championship, leads UCLA this season with a 71.5 scoring average, two tournament medals and seven top-10 finishes. She has finished under par in 12 of her 25 rounds of golf, including a remarkable stretch of eight under-par rounds across her last three tournaments.
Campos’ first two victories of her collegiate career came in back-to-back events at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic on March 29 and the Silverado Showdown on April 5.
The Valencia, Calif. native earned the first Pac-12 All-Conference Team honors of her career following her t-7th finish at the Pac-12 Championships last week. Campos was also selected to the ANNIKA Award Watch List earlier this season.
Joining Campos on the women’s U.S. squad are Rachel Kuehn (Wake Forest), Crystal Wang (Illinois), Megan Schofill (Auburn), Antonia Malate (San Jose State) and Ashleigh Park (Oregon).
