EVANSTON, Illinois — Northwestern women’s golf head coach Emily Fletcher has been voted by her peers as the 2023 Big Ten Coach of the Year, the Conference announced Wednesday. It marks the fifth time she has earned the recognition, with wins in 2016, 2015, 2013 and 2011 already on her resume.

Now in her 15th season at the helm, Fletcher guided Northwestern to a pair of tournament wins this spring at the PING/ASU Invitational and the Silverado Showdown, and the ‘Cats have finished Top-3 in four of their last five events. On the same day she was named the Conference’s top coach, the Wildcats learned their destination for a 13th consecutive NCAA Regional appearance and will head to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida on May 8 as the No. 3 seed.

The Coach of the Year award was just one of a slew of honors announced by the Conference on Wednesday for Northwestern. Dianna Lee was named Freshman of the Year, and half of the All-Big Ten First Team was purple as Lee was joined by Jieni Li, Lauryn Nguyen and Kelly Sim.
