SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — University of Colorado sophomore Dylan McDermott was one of two players who advanced out of a playoff here early Monday to play in the final round of the NCAA Championship Finals.
The Buffaloes did not advance as a team, but McDermott was one of three players vying for the final two of nine individual spots advancing into the finals. The three played the No. 18 hole, the toughest of the tournament; McDermott and Arkansas’ Mateo Fernandez De Oliveira parred the hole, while Texas Tech’s Matthew Comegys made bogey.
McDermott will tee off at 1:01 p.m. MDT as he will complete one of the best seasons ever by a CU golfer, regardless of class. He leads the team in 24 statistical categories and was named PING All-West Region over the weekend.
