Cantú Announces 2023-24 Women's Golf Schedule


Entering her third season as Tennessee’s head women’s golf coach, Diana Cantu announced the Lady Vols’ complete 2023-24 schedule Friday.

The regular season consists of nine regular season tournaments, with five being held in the fall and four in the spring. UT will play tournaments in six different states and venture outside of the United States to Mexico in February 2024.

For the fifth time in six seasons, the Lady Vols will tee of their fall slate at the Cougar Classic, hosted by the College of Charleston at Yeaman’s Hall, running Sept. 11-12.  

From Sept. 17-18, Tennessee will travel to East Lansing, Michigan, for the first time in program history to compete in the Mary Fossum Invitational, hosted by Michigan State at Forest Akers West Golf Course, which will serve as one of six NCAA Regional host sites in 2024.

Three weeks later, the Lady Vols will head to Raleigh, North Carolina, to play in the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational from Oct. 9-10 at the Governor’s Club. Last season, Tennessee captured its highest team finish under Coach Cantu placing fourth out of the 14-team field.

UT will play host to the 26th annual Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship at Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville, running Oct. 15-17. Rising junior Bailey Davis posted an impressive performance in 2022, notching the third-lowest 54-hole score in program history at -10. 

The Lady Vols conclude the fall portion of their season in Wilmington, North Carolina, at the Landfall Tradition from Oct. 27-29 at The Country Club at Landfall. 

To kick off spring action, Tennessee will travel to Guadalajara, Mexico, to compete in the Cavalier/AMFG, hosted by Virginia, taking place Feb.2-3 at Guadalajara Country Club.

Three weeks later, UT heads to Houston, Texas, for the ICON Invitational, from Feb. 26-27 at The Golf Club of Houston. This marks the third time the Big Orange have played in the event.

The Lady Vols will travel west to Saddlebrook, Arizona, to compete in the MountainView Collegiate, hosted by Kansas State and Missouri at MountainView Country Club from March 15.17.

To wrap up the regular season, Tennessee takes a short trip to Sunset, South Carolina, for the Clemson Invitational, hosted by Clemson, running March 22-24 at The Reserve at Lake Keowee.

UT will begin postseason play at the SEC Championship, hosted at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida, from April 12-16. NCAA Regionals will run May 6-8 and the NCAA Championship is set to take place May…
