Bulldogs Prepare To Co-Host Fallen Oak Collegiate

Biloxi, Miss. – Following two rounds of action at the Blessings Collegiate in Fayetteville Oct 2-3, the No. 10/23 Mississippi State men’s golf team will return to action at the inaugural Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational on Oct. 15-17.

The Bulldogs will co-host the event with Ole Miss and Southern Miss at the par 72, 7,487-yard Fallen Oak Golf Course. Teams will play 54 holes over eight days.

The 12-team field includes four teams inside the Golfweek/Bushnell rankings. Mississippi State is joined by No. 1 Auburn, the No. 3 Rebels and No. 29 SMU.

“First of all, we are thankful to be a part of this tournament. Fallen Oak and the Mississippi Gulf Coast have welcomed all of us and have put a lot of time and effort to make this a special event for all teams involved,” head coach Dusty Smith said. “We are excited for the opportunity in front of us. The golf course is a great test and a true championship golf course. I know our guys are humble and hungry to compete this week. The focus is, and will always be, on what we do. If we take care of our business and play Mississippi State golf, everything else will take care of itself.”

The Bulldogs are set to tee off 10:40 a.m. CT on Sunday to start the first round. State’s lineup returns to the same five men from its second-place finish at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational earlier this month. The Bulldogs will be represented by Hunter Logan, Garrett Endicott, Josep Serra, Pedro Cruz Silva and Harrison Davis. The five players included in team scoring will also be joined by Alejandro Fierro who is making his collegiate debut as an individual.

Logan, in the No. 1 spot for State, enters having shot par or better in six of eight rounds this season which leads the team. Five of those rounds have been in the 60s, which is the most on the team. In his last outing, Logan finished second at the weather-shortened Blessings Collegiate Invitational.

Endicott, an All-American honorable mention last season, returns to the No. 2 spot for the Bulldogs. Five of Endicott’s eight rounds this season have been at or below par, and four of those rounds have been in the 60s, both good for second best on the team. He has earned two top-20 finishes this season.

Serra will play in No. 3 spot for the Bulldogs for the third straight tournament. He shot the best…
