Bears Jump Two Spots In Final Round



Liu Leads Team With Third Top-10 Finish

GUADALAJARA, Mexico – The California women’s golf team saved its best for last on Sunday at Guadalajara Country Club, moving up two spots in the final round of the Collegiate Invitational to finish in seventh place as a team.

The Golden Bears (301-306-297) had a final score of 40-over par 904.

Adora Liu (71-77-75) ended the day where she started it, tying for ninth place individually at 7-over-par 223. The sophomore birdied twice on the final four holes of the tournament, making it three straight birdies on hole 18. Liu now leads the Golden Bears with three top-10 finishes on the season.

Three Bears had their lowest score of the weekend in round three. Sophomore Olivia Lee (79-77-73) led the way at 1-over 73 in the final round with five birdies. She was the team’s second-lowest scorer for the weekend tying for 31st individually.

Jieming Yang (81-76-74) shot a steady 2-over 74 in round three and tied for 36th overall. Fellow junior Kaylyn Noh carded a 3-over 75 to round out the team’s scorers.

As a team, Cal finished with the third-most birdies (34) and was 3rd on par 5s (-2) over the two-day, 54-hole event.

The Bears will fly out once again for their next tournament, as they head to Hawaii for the Pac-12 Preview on Feb. 19-21.
