HUMACAO, Puerto Rico – Kobe Valociek tied for 21st to lead the Virginia Tech men’s golf team at the Palmas del Mar Collegiate, which concluded Tuesday at Palmas del Mar Golf Club (par 72, 7,122 yards).
The senior posted a team-best 12 birdies over 54 holes en route to a 2-under 214 (73-70-71). As a team, the Hokies placed 14th at 5-over 869 (290-292-287).
Arkansas topped the team standings at 27-under 837 (281-276-280), while host UNC Greensboro was the runner-up at 20-under 844 (285-272-287).
Michigan’s Hunter Thomson earned medalist honors by firing a 15-under 201 (68-69-64), two shots clear of Mercer’s Tobias Jonsson.
