LIHUE, Hawaii (February, 17, 2024) – Washington State Men’s Golf shot a 6-under, 282 in the final round of the John Burns Intercollegiate Saturday on the par-72, 7,156-yard Reserve at Ocean Course Hokuala.
After WSU entered the day T-12th, the men scattered nine birdies and three eagles on the front nine to shoot 6-under as a team and move up five spots to finish T-7th in the final standings. The Cougars finished at even-par, 864, and trailed winner Arizona by 20 strokes.
Preston Bebich used a pair of birdies and an eagle on the front nine to shoot a 1-under, 71 in the final round and finish the tournament tied for eighth at 4-under, 212.
Pono Yanagi also finished with a 1-under, 71 showing in the third round behind five birdies. He ended the tournament at 2-under, 214 to place tied for 18th.
Sam Renner and Ben Borgida each recorded an eagle and multiple birdies to score a 2-under, 70 in the final round. Renner placed T-50th in the tournament at 5-over, 221, while Borgida ended T-66th at 8-over, 224.
Drayton Joseph totaled a 3-round score of 245 to finish 29-over and place 121st in the tournament.
WSU will next be in action Feb. 19-21 at The Prestige in La Quinta, Calif. at the PGA West Norman Course.
