Men Move Up Three Spots to T-10th with 7-Under Round Two


LA QUINTA, Calif. (February 20, 2024) – Washington State Men’s Golf ended day two of The Prestige with a 7-under performance, moving up to a tie for 10th at 2-under, 566 on the par-71, 7,100-yard Greg Norman Course at PGA West.

Individually, fifth year senior Pono Yanagi and Senior Preston Bebich both scored a 3-under, 68 in round two. Yanagi birdied three holes to just one bogey in the round to move up into a tie for fifth in the 120-player field with a two-round score of 7-under, 135. Bebich tallied five birdies on day two, and is now tied for 33rd at 1-under, 141.

Redshirt Freshman Ben Borgida finished the second round at 1-over behind four birdies, and is now 1-over, 143 for the tournament, tied for 48th.

Sophomore Sam Renner rattled off seven pars and two birdies on the front nine, and didn’t record a bogey until the 13th hole. He added another birdie on the 16th hole, though, to end round two at 2-under, 69. He is currently tied for 82nd at 5-over, 147.

Senior Drayton Joseph had another 7-over showing for a two-round score of 14-over, 156 to put him in a tie for 118th.

The Cougars wrap up at The Prestige tomorrow morning with the final round teeing off at 6:45 a.m. PT.
