Arizona State Men’s Golf sits tied for third after two rounds of play Monday at the Valspar Collegiate in Florida. Coming off a win in Cabo last weekend, the team looks to continue their streak for the final round tomorrow.
Freshman Connor Williams came out hot in round one, shooting a 66 with seven birdies. He finished the day 3-under and tied for eighth after shooting a 73 in round two. Wenyi Ding had a slower start on the front nine, but turned it around to shoot a 65 in the second round, complete with eight birdies.
ASU leads the field on the par-3 holes, shooting +2 through both rounds. Wenyi Ding has earned the most birdies of the tournament at 41, three ahead of the next competitor.
The final 18 holes will be played Tuesday, with a shotgun start at 7 a.m. CDT.
