Addie Dobson of the University of Missouri women’s golf team was honored for her work off the course on Wednesday, earning recognition on the SEC Community Service Team.
Dobson has been among the team’s leaders in community service initiatives during the 2023-24 campaign. Most notably, she volunteered with the Special Olympics in several roles and has also been active with Columbia Public Schools. Other community service projects that Dobson has worked with include Moving Ahead and the Veterans Hospital, while also volunteering at various Mizzou Athletics events.
On the course, Dobson posted a career-best 75.38 stroke average in 21 rounds during the 2023-24 campaign, placing second on the team at the SEC Championship.
The SEC Community Service team recognizes the accomplishments of student-athletes beyond the field of competition. All 21 league-sponsored sports have had a Community Service Team since 2004, with at-large teams for men’s and women’s sports being chosen from 1999-2003. The SEC began this concept with a football Community Service Team in 1994.
