Edwards Announces 2022-23 Men's Golf Schedule

BOULDER — University of Colorado men’s head golf coach Roy Edwards announced the team’s 2022-23 schedule Wednesday, and it once again features many familiar annual tournaments along with a couple of events for the first time in decades.

Edwards is entering his 17th season at the reins of the Buffalo program, with this team having as much if not more potential as he’s had during his tenure.  Despite being young – one senior, six sophomores and two freshmen – the sophomores are all experienced and the two frosh include the state of Colorado’s top prep performer.  Leading the way is sophomore Justin Biwer, who set 19 school records as a true freshman last season.

Tucker Intercollegiate (Sept. 23-24) for the 66th time and CU’s own Mark Simpson-Colorado Invitational (Oct. 3-4).  The Buffs have won their own meet eight times in the 11 years of its existence, though tied for fifth a year ago; senior-to-be Adam Matteson placed third with a school record-tying 13-under par performance.

CU closes out the fall portion of its schedule at the Nevada Wolfpack Classic (Oct. 10-11), the third time it will participate and for the first time since 1983, and then in Hawaii’s Kaanapali Classic (Oct. 28-30), where the Buffs…
