Three Boilermakers Named B1G Preseason Honorees

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – A trio of Boilermakers were named Big Ten Preseason Women’s Golf Honorees, the conference office announced Wednesday afternoon (Aug. 31). Kan Bunnabodee, Danielle du Toit and Ashley Kozlowski received the recognition ahead of the 2022-23 season.

Bunnabodee is no stranger to conference accolades. The Chonburi, Thailand, native earned First Team All-Big Ten honors a season ago, become the first Boilermaker to land on the league’s first team since 2018. Bunnabodee was ranked in the top 100 of Golfstat’s national rankings throughout the season, producing a 73.69 stroke average and leading Purdue in four different tournaments. She carded three rounds in the 60s, a team best. Her seventh-place finish at the Samuel P. Golden Invitational included a career-low 66 to go along with a three-round total of 207 (-9), the third lowest 54-hole score in school history. Putting in work in the classroom, Bunnabodee collected Academic All-Big Ten honors at the conclusion of the season.

Du Toit enters her final season at Purdue after cracking the lineup for 10 tournaments a season ago. The veteran Boilermaker got better as the season progressed, playing her best golf in late spring. She tied for seventh at the Indiana Invitational, the final event prior to the conference tournament. Du Toit got Purdue off to a solid start at the Big Ten Championship, firing a season-low 69 (-2) in the opening round. Leading the team with a 2-over 215 (71-73-71) at the NCAA Stanford Regional, du Toit helped Purdue advance to the NCAA Championships, where she held the lead early in the opening round.

As a sophomore, Kozlowski played in a team-high 12 tournaments during the 2021-22 campaign. The Littleton, Colorado, native led the Boilermakers in birdies (86) and pars (379) throughout the season, while pacing Purdue in three different events. In the fall, Kozlowski tied for sixth at the Illini Invitational with a career-low 211 that featured a 4-under 68 in the final round, her best round as a Boilermaker. She placed sixth at the Indiana Invitational in the spring to lead Purdue to a third-place finish as a team. Balancing golf and school as an aeronautical and astronautical engineering major, Kozlowski earned Academic All-Big Ten accolades.
