LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The honors continue for University of Louisville men’s golfer Jiri Zuska after the senior was named to the Haskins Award Watch List by the Haskins Foundation on Thursday.
Zuska is one of 25 golfers to be named on the watch list for the prestigious honor awarded annually to the nation’s top college golfer.
A native of the Czech Republic, Zuska has put together a solid career so far for the Cards in his first four seasons. Zuska led the Cardinals in stroke average last season and finished the season first on the team with a 71.33 average, while earning All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors.
The senior posted 23 rounds of par or better with four top-9 finishes including a 4-under-par 212 at the ACC Championship. Zuska is the top player heading into the 2022 season.
Zuska was named the July AmatuerGolf.com Golfer of the Month after a strong summer of play. He posted three top-five finishes in three Elite Amateur Series events, including tying for sixth place at the Pacific Coast Amateur. Zuska was a medalist in the 36-hole U.S. Amateur qualified held at Berkshire Hills in Pittsfield, Mass., where he shot 10-under par.
Celebrating its 53rd year, the Fred Haskins Award has been given to players who have captured 33 major championships and more than 400 professional tournaments around the world.
