Francesco Molinari What’s In The Bag?

Historically the Italian has played Nike clubs and despite not having an equipment contract, he pretty much had TaylorMade sticks throughout his bag in 2018. It would have been easy to assume that he would continue that set up however he shocked many at the 2019 Sentry Tournament of Champions arriving with Callaway clubs in the bag. Since then Molinari has signed a multi-year deal that will see the Italian put Callaway woods, irons, wedges and ball in play along with an Odyssey putter. Let’s get into his setup now.

Driver

Callaway Rogue ST Triple Diamond

One of the strongest parts of his game is his straight driving and at the moment his driver is a Callaway Rogue ST Triple Diamond. It has 8.5 degrees of loft and a Fujikura shaft. The Triple Diamond model is the model most suited to top players because it is the least forgiving of the new range. Therefore it is only really meant for the most consistent of ball-strikers. 

Fairway

The younger Molinari brother was using a Callaway Epic Speed Triple Diamond fairway wood but he has recently put in a Callaway Rogue ST LS fairway wood (opens in new tab). As the name would suggest, it is a low spin model that combines classic shaping with modern technology for impressive ball speeds. In our review it was one of the fastest fairways we have tested in 2022, long and accurate and would make a great back-up to driver on tighter courses.

Hybrid

Callaway Apex Pro

Regarding utilities and hybrids, Molinari has put the Callaway X Forged utility iron in occasionally but he has also shown a liking to the Callaway Apex Pro hybrid (opens in new tab).
