Rebel Golf Programs Ready To Tee Off Blessings Collegiate Invitational


FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Ole Miss men’s and women’s golf teams travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas to take part in the annual Blessings Collegiate Invitational, scheduled to begin Monday. The Rebel men and the Rebel women will compete side-by-side on the same course.
 
In last year’s competition, both Rebel teams placed in the top-5, with men’s finishing tied for 3rd and women’s ending at 5th. 
 
TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
Monday, Oct. 3 – 18 holes of stroke play
Tuesday, Oct. 4 – 18 holes of stroke play
Wednesday, Oct. 5 – 18 holes of stroke play
 
WHERE TO WATCH
All three days of competition from Fayetteville will have coverage available on the Golf Channel, beginning at 3:30 p.m. CT each day and concluding at the end of each round. Each day will also feature a 30-minute preshow, College Central, running all three days beginning at 3 p.m. CT.
 
WOMEN’S LINEUP
Andrea Lignell (Sr.*)
— Opens 2022-23 season with a stroke average of 68.00
— Captured her first collegiate medalist finish at the season-opening Cougar Classic
— Shot a 204 (-9) at the Cougar Classic, marking a new career-low 54-hole score and tying her for the second-lowest 54-hole score in program history
— Named Co-SEC Women’s Golfer of the Week to kick off the fall season
— Earned a trio of top 5 finishes last season, including a runner-up finish at the East Lake Cup
 
Ellen Hume (Sr.*)
— Enters Fayetteville with season stroke average of 70.00 in 2022-23
— Started season off with a 13th place finish at the Cougar Classic
— Earned an eighth place finish at the 2021 East Lake Cup after carding a season-low round of 71 (-1)
— Four career top 20 finishes for the Rebels since joining the team for the 2020-21 season
— Co-Champion of the 2020 East Lake Cup after shooting a round of 69 (-3)
 
Chiara Tamburlini (Sr.*)
— Finished 2021-22 season with 72.60 stroke average in 11 tournament appearances, marking the sixth-best season stroke average in program history
— Named to ANNIKA Award Preseason Watch List
— 2021-22 WGCA First-Team All-American
— 2022 Edith Cummings Munson Golf Award winner
— Earned second-highest individual finish at the NCAA Championships in program…
