LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville women’s golfer Carmen Griffiths was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Women’s Golfer of the Month for October, announced by the league on Friday.
Griffiths recently recorded her first collegiate victory at the Olde Stone Intercollegiate, shooting 2-under-par 214.
The sophomore from Aboyne, Scotland had her first collegiate ace at Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational in the second round where she scored 5-under-par 67. Her single-round score of 67 tied for the lowest single-round score throughout the entire tournament.
Griffiths has consistently placed in the top 10 this season with two top-three finishes, one top-sixth finish, and most recently, her first-place finish. Throughout the season, Griffiths has found herself in the top-50 of the women’s individual rankings (by Golfstat.com) twice with a No. 34 ranking on Oct. 19 and a No. 19 ranking following her first collegiate win (Oct. 26).
The University of Louisville women’s golf team finished its fall season and will return to tournament play in February when they host the Moon Golf Invitational in Melbourne, Fla.
