AUGUSTA, Ga. – Alabama women’s golfer Kaitlyn Schroeder has accepted an invitation to compete at the 2023 Augusta National Women’s Amateur which will be held March 29-April 1 in Augusta, Ga.
Schroeder, who is among 70 of the top women’s amateur players in the nation that will compete at the three-day tournament, signed with the Crimson Tide during the early signing period last November and joined the women’s golf team as an early enrollee this January.
- Slated to make her Augusta National Women’s Amateur debut at this year’s event
- No. 1-ranked junior golfer in the class of 2023 according to the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA)
- 2022 AJGA Rolex Girls Junior Player of the Year
- 2022 Girls Junior PGA champion
- A three-time AJGA All-American, including first team honors in 2022
- A participant for Team USA at the 2021 Junior Solheim Cup
About the Augusta National Women’s Amateur (ANWA)
- The ANWA will begin a week prior to the 87th Masters Tournament and compete across 54 holes of stroke play, with a cut to 30 players and ties taking place after 36 holes
- The first two rounds will take place on the Island and Bluff nines at Champions Retreat Golf Club on Wednesday, March 29 and Thursday, March 30
- The entire field will play Augusta National for an official practice round on Friday, March 31
- The final round will take place at Augusta National on Saturday, April 1 and will feature the competitors who made the cut
