The year’s second full-field designated event is here, as 23 of the top 25 players in the Official World Golf Ranking have made their way to Riviera Country Club for the Genesis Invitational.
Oh, and some guy named Tiger Woods is going to be there, too. For all those kids reading, go look him up on YouTube. He was pretty good.
Woods has never won at Riviera and enters the week at 150/1. Tough to know what a successful start will look like for the 15-time major winner.

Now, let’s dive into three longshot picks, starting with Woods.

America doesn’t come together very often, but when Tiger Woods tees it up, everyone wants to bet on him. So, why not at Riv?
This will be his first non-major start since the 2020 Zozo Championship. There’s no doubt he can still play high-level golf, it’s whether he’ll be able to walk for 72 holes.
If you don’t think he can win but still want in on some action, Woods is +150 to make the cut.

Sam Ryder has had two great starts in a row. He was in the mix until the last few holes at the Farmers Insurance Open where he eventually tied for fourth and grabbed a top 20 last week in Scottsdale.
He’s 13th in SG: Approach and 10th in SG: Putting on Tour this season.
At last year’s Genesis, Ryder finished T-26.

Russell Henley missed the cut last week in Arizona thanks to an opening 78, however, he bounced back nicely with a second-round 4-under 67.
He has made the cut at Riviera four years in a row, highlighted by a career-best 17th-place finish in 2020.
Henley is one of the best iron players on Tour, and at a golf course that boasts tough-to-hit greens, that should come in handy.
