East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State’s men’s golf team wraps up its spring break trip, playing in the Johnnie-O at Sea Island this week.


The 13-team tournament, which includes eight teams ranked among the top-75 in the country by Golfstat, will begin on Monday with 36 holes of continuous play. 

THE JOHNNIE-O AT SEA ISLAND

Dates: Monday, March 13 – Tuesday, March 14

Course: Sea Island Golf Club – St. Simons Island, Ga.

Par/Yardage: 70 / 7,005 yards

Format: Stroke play, 54 holes / Play five, count four

Live Stats: Golfstat

Schedule – Monday – 36 holes of continuous play beginning with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start

Tuesday – 18 holes with tee times beginning at 8 a.m.

LAST TIME OUT

Michigan State junior men’s golfer August Meekhof fired an 11-under par 205 over three rounds and finished in first place, helping to lead the Spartans to a third-place finish among 12 teams at the Colleton River Collegiate, played on the Jack Nicklaus Course in Bluffton, S.C. on March 6-7.

The Spartans shot a 3-under par 285 in the final round and finished in third place with a 54-hole score of 26-under par 838 (275-278-285).

Georgia Southern won the event at 34-under par 830 (281-268-281), two shots better than second place Kansas State at 32-under par 832 (269-275-288). The Spartans were in third place eight shots off the lead.

Rutgers finished in fourth place at 25-under par 839 (277-283-278) and Penn State rounded out the top five teams at 24-under par 840 (275-279-286).
