Illini Wrap Up Round Two of the Clemson Invitational

SUNSET, S.C. – The Illinois women’s golf team ended the second round of the Clemson Invitational tied for 10th after carding a round total of 292 (+4) heading into Sunday’s third round at The Reserve at Lake Keowee.

Crystal Wang ended the day tied for sixth at 2-under after her second round 73 (+1). Wang shot an even-par 36 on back before a 1-over 37 on the front, collecting three birdies along the way. The Diamond Bar, Calif., native, is going for her sixth Top 10 finish of the season.

Isabel Sy is tied for 31st after shooting an even-par 72 second round. Sy went 1-under on the back, going into the turn with back-to-back birdies on 17 and 18.

Lexanne Halama moved up to tied for 46th after her even-par second round. Halama posted an even-par 36 on the back before going 3-under on the front, amassing four birdies along the way, picking all of them up over a seven-hole span.

Mattie Frick will enter Sunday tied for 57th after her second round 75 (+3) and Siyan Chen is tied for 76th after her second round of 83 (+11).

Clemson leads the tournament at 7-under with LSU (-4) and Ole Miss (-3) rounding out the Top 3. Clemson’s Annabelle Pancake is leading individually at 9-under.

Sunday’s third and final round begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. CT.
