Chirravuri 69 Leads USC Men's Golf In The Goodwin First Round

Freshman Mahanth Chirravuri fired a 1-under 69 while sophomore Gavin Aurilia carded a par 70 to lead the USC men’s golf team in the first round of The Goodwin at TPC Harding Park on Thursday (March 30).

The Trojans combined for 7-over 287 and are 15th. Host Stanford leads the 28-team field at 7-under, one of just three teams that are under par.

Chirravuri turned in his team-best sixth round in the 60s today with his 69 and is tied for 14th, 3 off the lead. He went out at 2-under on the back 9 start. He saw his round evened after bogeys on 2 and 5, but finished the last three holes at 1-under.

Aurilia registered his ninth round of par or better this year with his 70. He went out at par and was 2-over before finishing with bodies on two of his last three holes. He is tied for 28th.

Sophomore Jackson Rivera is tied for 85th following his 3-over 73, which included two late birdies. Senior Jack Boulger and junior Krando Nishiba are tied for 110th at 5-over.
