Georgia Tech's Lamprecht & Virginia's James Earn ACC Golfer of the Month Accolades

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Georgia Tech’s Christo Lamprecht and Virginia’s Ben James have been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Men’s Golfer of the Month for March.

Competing against fields that included 14 teams ranked among Golfstat’s top 25, Lamprecht posted his fifth and sixth top-10 finishes of the year and led the Yellow Jackets to a pair of runner-up finishes at the Linger Longer Invitational and The Goodwin. At the Linger Longer event, Tech finished ahead of Vanderbilt, the nation’s No. 1 team, and Lamprecht beat the nation’s top player, Gordon Sargent of Vanderbilt. Tech also finished ahead of the only top-10 team at The Goodwin (Stanford).

A freshman from Milford, Connecticut, James picked up his third win of the season at the General Hackler Champion where he tied for first place (no playoff). He became the first Cavalier to place first in three tournaments in the same season since Ben Kohles in 2009-10. James also added a second-place finish at the Wake Forest Invitational at Pinehurst No. 2 against a field that included eight ranked teams.
