Lady Vols Complete First Round of SEC Championship

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Tennessee’s women’s golf team competed in the opening round of the SEC Championship and was led by Emily Hawkins’ even-par outing at Greystone Golf and Country Club on Wednesday.
 
Hawkins posted three birdies in four holes to shoot 1-under on the front nine and shot +1 on the back nine to notch a 72 on the day, marking the graduate’s third round of par or better this season. Hawkins is tied for 13th place ahead of the second round.
 
Freshmen duo Angela Arora and Caroline Patterson shot +2 (74) in the first round and are tied for 27th place ahead of Thursday. Junior Vanessa Gilly recorded a 75 (+3) and is tied for 36th place, while freshman Manassanan Chotikabhukkana carded a 76 (+4) and is tied for 47th place with two rounds of stroke play to go. As a group, the Lady Vols shot +7 (295) and are tied for 10th place out of the 14-team field.
