UCLA Women’s Golf No. 6 Seed at San Antonio Regional

LOS ANGELES – The UCLA women’s golf team was selected as a No. 6 seed in the San Antonio Regional, to be held, May 8-10 at TPC San Antonio. The Bruins have made an appearance in all 30 NCAA Regionals since the round has been part of the postseason, beginning in 1993.

The top five teams from each of the six regionals will advance to what will be the largest NCAA Championship event field in women’s golf history. The teams advancing to the regional competition were announced in a program on The Golf Channel.

UCLA has advanced from regional qualifying 24 times in its history, including each of the four seasons.

Last year in the Tallahassee Regional, the then-No. 2 seed Bruins tied for second at the event. Head coach Carrie Forsyth, who announced her retirement at the conclusion of the 2022-23 season earlier this week, has recorded four consecutive top-3 finishes at NCAA Regionals and 18 total at the helm of the program. Under Forsyth, UCLA has won all eight of its NCAA Regional Championships.

The NCAA Championship was not conducted in 2020 after the suspension of all sports during the pandemic.

More details to come.
