No. 12 USC, the newly crowned 2023 Pac-12 champion and a two-time winner this season featuring a trio of conference first teamers, continues the postseason with its selection as the No. 3 seed in the 2023 NCAA Pullman Regional (May 8-10) at the Palouse Ridge G.C. in Pullman, Wash.

The Trojans, three-time NCAA champions who had a streak of 14 straight NCAA top 5 finishes come to a recent end, will travel to Washington with hopes of qualifying for the NCAA Championships final set for the Grayhawk G.C. in Scottsdale, Ariz., hosted by Arizona State, May 19-24.

The Trojans have advanced to the NCAA Championship final site every year since 1998.

Joining the Trojans at the Washington State-Pullman site will be top-seed and top-ranked Stanford, Baylor, Clemson, Kentucky, Texas Tech, Houston, North Carolina, UNLV, Sacramento State, Cal Poly and Green Bay.

A year ago, USC won the Stanford Regional by seven strokes at 15-under. Amari Avery took medalist honors while Brianna Navarrosa took third and Michaela Morard was sixth.

The top five teams after 54 holes from the six 12-team NCAA Regionals – and the top individual (not on an advancing teams) – will advance to Grayhawk.

USC is led by Avery, a 2022 and 2023 All-Pac-12 first teamer, as well as fellow All-Pac-12 first teamer sophomore Xin (Cindy) Kou and freshman Catherine Park, another first team all-conference pick. Senior Malia Nam, a one-time All-American, has been coming on strong, as has junior Christine Wang, while junior Brianna Navarrosa is a reliable option as well.

USC has won an NCAA-best 14 regionals overall and once had a streak of being an NCAA regional top seed from 2011-16.

There are 72 teams in the six NCAA regionals with 12 schools at each site, set for three rounds of competition, May 8-10. USC is one of eight Pac-12 teams to make the field, which include Stanford, UCLA, Arizona State, Arizona, Oregon, Oregon State, California.
