TEAMS DECIDED AT THE DRAFT IN FLORIDA

It’s nearly time for the Aramco Team Series presented by PIF – Florida with the teams now finalised ahead of the tournament starting.

Two competitions will take place side by side with 108 professionals competing in a 54-hole stroke play as well as a 36-hole Team competition.

The Draft took place on Wednesday evening with the captains, who were the 36 best-ranked players in the field in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings as of Monday 8th May, front and centre.

Captains were able to pick one professional to join their team, while the third professional was randomly assigned before an amateur is also added to the team.

World number three Lydia Ko had the last pick of the evening and chose Czechia’s Tereza Melecka – a two-time winner in the Team competition – and they will also play with Norway’s Marianne Skarpnord, who won the Individual title in London in 2021.

American star and Major winner Lexi Thompson opted for Wales’ Lydia Hall in her side and they will also be joined by LET rookie and fellow American Kelly Whaley.

Sweden’s Linn Grant, the 2022 Race to Costa del Sol champion, picked England’s Rosie Davies and the third professional will be India’s Diksha Dagar, who was part of the winning Team Cowan in London in 2021.

India’s Aditi Ashok, who currently leads the 2023 Race to Costa del Sol, chose Germany’s Laura Fuenfstueck while they will also play alongside Germany’s Patricia Isabel Schmidt.

France’s Pauline Roussin, who won the Individual title in Singapore in March, opted for three-time LET winner Nuria Iturrioz of Spain and the pair will also play with England’s Trish Johnson.

Austria’s Christine Wolf was the winning captain in Singapore, and she decided to pick fellow Austrian Emma Spitz and they will be joined by France’s Anais Meyssonnier.

Three-time winner in the Team competition Casandra Alexander is a captain for the first time this week and chose England’s Gabriella Cowley while France’s Emma Grechi will be the third professional in the team.
