Adrien Dumont de Chassart | SR., Men’s Golf | Major: Management: Entrepreneurship

Adrien Dumont de Chassart led the way for Fighting Illini men’s golf, as the team secured its place in the 2023 NCAA Championship with a second-place finish in the race for five advancing spots at the NCAA Regional at Eagle Eye Golf Club in Bath, Mich., May 15-17.   

Dumont de Chassart closed out the week as Illinois’ top finisher in a tie for second place. It marked the fourth runner-up finish of the year for the three-time Big Ten Golf of the Year, who also captured his fourth collegiate victory earlier this season at the Fighting Illini Spring Collegiate. Dumont de Chassart posted three straight rounds of par or better, opening with a 67 (-4) in Round 1 followed by an even-par 71 in Round 2 and a closing 3-under 68 to move to 7-under overall. The fifth-year senior was particularly sharp late in Round 3, closing the event with birdies on three of his final five holes to secure his seventh top-five finish of the season. 

A native of Villers la Ville, Belgium, Dumont de Chassart is majoring in Management: Entrepreneurship with a minor in Economics at Illinois.
