After leading the Missouri men’s golf team during the 2022-23 campaign, Charlie Crockett was honored on the PING All-Region Central Team, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Crockett, who also earned second-team all-conference accolades this season, becomes the fifth Mizzou golfer to earn the award since the Tigers joined the SEC in 2012. He joins Jace Long (2013), Emilo Cuartero (2014), Hayden Buckley (2018) and Ross Steelman (2021) as MU honorees.
During the 2022-23 campaign, Crockett led the Tigers in scoring in 5-of-11 tournaments. He finished the campaign with a 70.03 stroke average, more than a two-stroke improvement from his 2021-22 average of 72.4 and the lowest mark by a Tiger since Buckley averaged 69.5 in 2017-18.
Crockett played some of his best golf during the postseason. He placed eighth at the SEC Championship, marking the best finish ever by a Tiger at the tournament, before following up with a fourth-place finish during the regional round of the NCAA Championship.
Overall, Crockett shot under par in 10-of-11 events during the season.
