Purdue Trio to Play in U.S. Open Sectional Qualifying

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue golfers Kent Hsiao and Peyton Snoeberger will look to punch their tickets to the 123rd edition of the U.S. Open, played this year at the Los Angeles Country Club from June 15 to 18.

In addition, 2022 alum Cole Bradley will join the pair in Ohio, comprising three of the 75 players looking to advance to the U.S. Open. There will be five spots available among the 75 players competing.

Adam Schenk was scheduled to play in one of the qualifiers, but he became exempt for the U.S. Open, as well as The Open Championship, by ranking in the top 60 in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) after his top-10 finish at The Memorial that concluded Sunday in Dublin, Ohio. Schenk is currently ranked 26th in the FedEx Cup standings and 53rd in the OWGR.

Hsiao, Snoeberger and Bradley will be playing in “Golf’s Longest Day” at Springfield Country Club in Springfield, Ohio. A total of 75 players will be competing for a number of spots (to be determined) to advance to the U.S. Open.

Snoeberger will tee off at 8:25 a.m. ET, off hole No. 10, while Hsiao will tee off at 8:15 a.m. ET, also off No. 10. Bradley will start at 8:55 a.m. ET, off hole No. 10.

Hsiao and Snoeberger played big roles for the Boilermakers this past season, helping Purdue to its eighth NCAA Golf Regionals appearances in the last nine seasons. Hsiao, a rising junior from Taiwan, Taipei, recorded a 73.38 stroke average with nine rounds of even-par or better. Snoeberger, a rising fifth-year member from Williamsport, Indiana, averaged 73.32 strokes per round with three top-20 finishes.

A Purdue representative has played in the last three (not including this year), and four of the last five, U.S. Opens (Schenk – 2022; Fernando Barco – 2021; Duncan – 2020; Duncan – 2018).
