Gators Welcome All-American Ian Gilligan


The 2023 Big West Golfer of the Year and Individual Champion will join the Gators in the fall. 

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida men’s golf head coach J.C. Deacon announced the addition of transfer Ian Gilligan to the program on Friday.

The 2023 Big West Golfer of the Year and Individual Champion will join the program in the fall after spending the last two seasons at Long Beach State. He was named a PING All-American this season, LBSU’s first selection since 1983 and eighth in program history.

Gilligan has played in 21 collegiate tournaments and has recorded 16 top-25, 12 top-10, and eight top-5 finishes with four victories this season, including back-to-back to start this season.

  • Tied Long Beach State low 54-hole score by par record (-17)
  • Set the course record at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate with a 61 
  • Runner-up at the 2022 Big West Championship
  • 2021 Nevada High School Golfer of the Year 
  • Three-time Nevada 5A Regional Individual Champion
  • Three-time Nevada All-Region and All-League selection
  • Four-time Nevada High School State Championship Qualifier 
  • Medalist honors at 2022 NCGA Amateur   
  • Winner of 2021 McClure Cup Amateur Championship
