DURHAM – Duke women’s golf rising senior Phoebe Brinker has received Golfweek Honorable Mention All-America honors for the second time in her career.
Brinker, a product of Wilmington, Del., is coming off a season where she carded a team-best 72.81 stroke average along with six top-10 finishes. She collected a team-best 18 rounds of even or under par and seven rounds in the 60s. Brinker registered 105 birdies on the season becoming the first Blue Devil since 2017-18 to reach the 100-birdie mark.
At the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational, Brinker posted rounds of 67, 70 and 72 for a 7-under-par, 209, to finish in a tie for first, before falling in a playoff. She also registered a runner-up placement at the ACC Championship with a 12-under-par, 204, with rounds of 71, 69 and 64. Brinker collected four straight top-10 finishes in the spring heading into the NCAA Championship.
Brinker has been outstanding at the last two ACC Championships posting a 22-under-par ledger with a victory and runner-up placement. She also owns nine career eagles, which ranks tied for first on Duke’s all-time record charts.
