COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina men’s golf announced the addition of a pair of transfers on Friday in Frankie Harris and Laurens Schulze-Doering. Harris most recently played at Auburn and Schulze-Doering at Young Harris College (NCAA Division II).

“Coach (Bill) McDonald and I could not be more excited about adding Frankie and Laurens off the transfer portal,” associate head coach Brady Gregor said. “They will come in and add immediate firepower and depth to our roster. Frankie comes in off qualifying for the U.S. Amateur in back-to-back summers and was ranked one of the top junior golfers in the country headed into college. Laurens immediately made waves in Division II earning freshman of the year honors in his conference, and we’re excited to watch his game translate to the SEC.”

After not competing his freshman year on The Plains, Harris made his Tiger debut at the 2022 Maui Jim Individual in the fall. He impressed finishing T-9th with a 54-hole total of 210 (-6). The Boca Raton, Fla., native closed the tournament with a 65 (-7) to make a final round move up the leaderboard.

Harris qualified for his second straight U.S. Amateur today as he tied for medalist honors with Parker Bell and John Dubois, who both play at Florida and were competing on their home course at Mark Bostick Golf Club in Gainesville. The trio shot 4-under over the course of 36 holes. Harris carded rounds of 67 (-3) and 69 (-1). This year’s U.S. Amateur will take place at Cherry Hills Country Club (Cherry Hills Village, Colo.) and Colorado Golf Club (Parker, Colo.) this August. For more information, click here.
