Men’s Golf Earns President’s Special Recognition Award from GCAA


East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State’s men’s golf team was one of 54 collegiate programs recognized with a President’s Special Recognition Award by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

To earn the President’s Special Recognition Award from the GCAA, teams must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.

This is the 11th-straight year the men’s golf team has been recognized with a GCAA All-Academic Team honor.

This week, three members of the MSU team were selected to the GCAA All-American Scholar list, Drew HackettTroy Taylor II, and Bradley Smithson earning the honor. To be eligible for the GCAA All-American Scholar list, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior, have a stroke average under 76.0 in Division I and carry a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2.
