Lopez Ramirez Named to ANNIKA Award’s Final Fall Watchlist

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Haskins Foundation announced on Thursday that Julia Lopez Ramirez was named to their 2023-2024 Final Fall Watch List for the ANNIKA Award. The ANNIKA Award is awarded to the top female Division I golfer every year.

The 2023 SEC Individual Champion appeared in three tournaments throughout the fall season for the Bulldogs. In those three appearances, Julia notched two top-three finishes. Lopez Ramirez finished seven-under par in both of those outings.

Along with holding the most wins for any Bulldog individually, Lopez Ramirez currently holds the lowest career stroke average in program history, shooting an average of 70.7. She also has carded more rounds in the 60s than any other golfer to come through Mississippi State.

Lopez Ramirez also holds numerous individual season records at Mississippi State. Last season, she carded the lowest season stroke average (70.1), most rounds in the 60s in a single season (13) and most par or better rounds in a season (25) in program history. Julia’s freshman statistics sit on the record book as well, as they rank third in stroke average, second in rounds in the 60s and fourth in par or better rounds.

Alongside the three tournaments played, Julia also played in the 30th Women’s World Team Amateur Team Championship on October 25-28. The top three amateur golfers from each country were selected. Julia and Team Spain finished third overall with a total of 17-under. Lopez Ramirez finished the tournament tied for 20th four-under par

The junior also earned multiple individual honors. She has picked up the title of SEC Golfer of the Week five times. During the 2021-22 season, she was named SEC Freshman of The Week twice.
